Teamsters Local 927 Executive Board regrets to announce the passing of Martin Brower member Roger Cormier.
It is with profound sadness that the family of Roger Paul Cormier, 54, of Greater Lakeburn, New Brunswick, announce the loss of their beloved son, brother, husband and father. Roger passed from this life on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, near Jemseg, NB as a result of a tragic motor vehicle accident.
Roger, the youngest of three siblings, was born in 1969 to parents William and Rosaline (LeBlanc) Cormier in Waltham, Massachusetts, U.S.A., the family later settling in Memramcook, New Brunswick. He was a mischievous, fun-loving young man who remained a child-at-heart throughout his life. His formative education saw him attend Abbey-Landry and Pré-d’en-Haut schools, followed by Mathieu Martin High School. Roger went on to find success as a Class 1 professional driver with various companies, culminating in his 25-year career as a dedicated and well-respected veteran employee of Martin Brower.
As a son and brother, he knew no rival; one could not ask for better. As a friend, Roger was steadfast and true, a cheerleader of all your accomplishments. As a colleague, he was supportive, diligent and fair-minded. One could set their watch and their moral compass by Roger Cormier.
Yet, for all of his travelling miles, Roger’s destination was always home to his family. This genuine man of kind heart and patient demeanor left us with fond memories of a loving husband, doting father and of a man with an abiding appreciation of life’s joy. Roger was the navigator of his family’s life adventures. He brought his unique light to each and every experience undertaken. Affectionate and gentle, Roger found value in a life led simply with sincere commitment to be fully present in each moment spent with his essential people, content to stand behind the lens to watch his family shine.
Fondly missed will be his smart-ass sense of humor, his goofiness and charm and his incessant teasing. His affinity for gadgets and electronics went unmatched as did his willingness to dream big, drain your jellybean jar and predict #1 hit radio songs. Roger was never short on words of wisdom, exceptionally bad Dad jokes or detailed directions; with him, you were never lost. And if ever you lose your way, weaving along life’s often winding road, look for direction in his memory.
Roger, you will forever be loved…to the moon and back. In remembrance of this exceptional man, the family asks that you do something nice for somebody else unexpectedly, and without explanation.
Roger is pre-deceased by his father William Cormier, sister Alice Gautreau and sister-in-law Lisa (Dutcher) Major.
Deeply mourning his loss are his dearest love of 32 years, wife and best friend Lorriann (née Dutcher) Cormier, beloved son Noah, cherished daughter Paige, and parents-in-law Laurie and Irene Dutcher, all of Greater Lakeburn, NB, as well as brother-in-law Larry Dutcher (Nicole) of Meadowbrook, NB and sister-in-law Tracy Gagnon (Emery) of Grande Digue, NB and the entire Dutcher extended family.
Roger is also survived by mother Rosaline Cormier and brother Dollard Cormier (Dorilla) of Memramcook, NB, goddaughter Julie Gautreau of Dieppe, NB and his extended Cormier family. His passing will be keenly felt by his dear friends and colleagues as well.
The family wish to extend their sincere appreciation for the care and compassion shown by emergency personnel and all subsequent professional services involved with the Highway 2 incident.
