George Stockwell’s journey with UPS and the Teamsters reflects a career marked by dedication, service, and unwavering leadership. Beginning as a UPS Package Driver and a member of Teamsters Local 938 in Ontario, George spent many years as a Steward, advocating tirelessly for his fellow members.
When UPS expanded to Atlantic Canada, George transferred to Local 927 in 2012, quickly earning respect as a Trustee and Vice President on Local 927’s Executive Board. His commitment to the union’s principles and his strong voice for workers’ rights set him apart as a trusted leader.
In 2020, George took on a part-time role as a Business Agent with Local 927, where his passion for representing members shone brightly. During his tenure, he continued to serve as Trustee and Vice President, leaving a lasting impact through his dedication to fairness, advocacy, and service.
A loyal Maple Leafs fan, George’s spirited personality and steadfast dedication have left an indelible mark on those who know him. Known for always leaving a room with his signature, “Go Leafs Go,” his enthusiasm has inspired many.
As George retired from his part-time Business Agent role in 2023, we honor his tremendous contributions to the union and wish him all the best in this exciting new chapter of his life.
