It is with heavy hearts that we sadly announce the sudden passing of Alan Jeffrey Shoub in Toronto, Ontario on Friday, January 13, 2023.

Beloved son of Lillian and the late Hyman Shoub. Dear brother of the late Shelly Robyn Shoub. Uncle of Carly Frank. Grandson of the late Abie and the late Lottie Shoub, the late Joel and the late Anne Bernstein. Nephew of Bernard and Cyrelle, Louis and Goldie, Shirley and the late Sidney, and the late Leonard. Alan had many cousins with whom he shared family gatherings and special events. They loved him and will miss him. Very close friend of Sharon Candfield.

At age sixteen Alan participated in a student program offered by CBC and CJAD. This experience influenced him to pursue a career in communications. Alan’s lifelong career was in the movie industry for thirty-five years. He had many friends and colleagues with whom he had very positive relationships.

Very special thanks to Jack Logan, a friend who Alan thought of as a big brother for over twenty-five years, and to Lowell Greenspoon, a very close friend. A very special thank you to his cousin Ted Shoub for his support and advocacy.

Graveside service on Wednesday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beit Abraham Family Estates Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva private. Donations in Alan’s name may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Paperman & Sons.Alan will be in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace.
